Family Portrait for Daniel Family
I was just honored to shoot a Family Portrait for Daniel Family.
One of the young boys was adamant about not having his picture taken so I reached into my bag of tricks and asked him if he could help me with the Vision 4 lights. I hoisted him onto my knee so he could reach the shutter release on the camera and fire so he could admire the strobes firing when he pulled the trigger. That is all to took. He now had ownership and he smiled like a saint.

Light Output test for Neewer Vision 4, Dynalite Uni 400 and the Canon EX RT 600 speedlight to see which lights give the the lowest output and which give me the highest output. The Dyna and Vision 4 are both rated at 400 w/s. The Canon 600 was the lowest output. The Dyna barely beat out the Vision 4 on the high side but the Vision 4 had the greatest output range – right at 6 stops.
Camera and Light meter are set at 100 ISO and 125 second shutter speed.
Light is metered exactly 10 feet away from the light source.
Dyna Uni Low (1/8 power) = f5.6 Hi (full power) = f16.3
Neewer Vision 4 Low (1/64 power) = f1.4 Hi (full power) = f16.0
Canon 600 ex rt Low (1/128 power) = f1.0 Hi (full power) = f8.0
Photoshoot for Ecklund Elevator
I was just asked to do a Photoshoot for Ecklund Elevator. This is a different type of architectural photography challenge. Here is my client’s comments:
Johnny took photos for me for a work project. The images came out beautiful. I have photos taken all over the country and his were the best of the best. I HIGHLY recommend Johnny! If you hire him you will not be disappointed.
Arm-R-Lite photoshoot
Arm-R-Lite photoshoot
I was just recently asked by a company in Minnesota that manufactures rock solid commercial doors.
Arm-R-Lite is a leading manufacturer of commercial overhead sectional doors and commercial roll-up doors. Each one of our commercial garage doors is built to withstand the daily rigors of the most demanding installations. Arm-R-Lite doors have been installed on firehouses, artist studios, corporate buildings, restaurants , car washes, car care centers, gas stations, dealerships, museums, marinas, private homes, and countless unique applications.
This commercial photo shoot was different because for several of the shots I used my new Neewer Vision 4 battery powered strobe lights and had to shoot into the glass with them. I could avoid the glare by carefully considering the angle that I directed the lights.
The location of the door installation was the new Starbucks at Barton Springs and Lamar.
Testing Neewer Vision 4 lights at US Money Reserve
Testing Neewer Vision 4 lights at US Money Reserve
For my Client US Money Reserve I spent the first full day shooting business portraits, and on day two we spent half the day running from office to office shooting candid office lifestyle photographs. This gave me the opportunity to test out my new Vision 4 lights. I was excited about the price, but failed to think about that fact that at that $200 price point, there had to be something that was missing. Indeed it was that I cannot control the output of the lights from the remote trigger on the camera. This is only a slight inconvenience to get up from behind the tripod and go dial up or down the f stop on the lights. They are battery powered and one battery lasted all afternoon.
