Beautiful Aerial Drone Video of Austin Scenes

During these spring Covid days my normal architectural photography work in Austin was slow, so I decided to spend some time shooting spectacular scenic video of mostly Austin attractions. There are also some scenes from Gavleston and Ponte Vedra. This is a perfect Spa Style video to watch during meditation, relaxation, yoga, pilates or during a hot bath. The video is shot with Mavic 2 Pro. This video shows off the best of Austin, Texas, and why it is that we all love Austin so much.

One of my Westlake students for whom I am a photography mentor for the Independent Study Program at Westlake High School wanted to shoot a still life. I have always admired the work of Paulette Tavormina. Her fine art photography rises above the crowd of fine art photographers. Here is an example of her work.

My student, Jake and I moved some furniture around in my living room and built a black backdrop to cut out the ambient light. We lit the scene from several different angles with a Westcot mini strip light and painted in the lit areas in Photoshop.

Serene pier

Serene pier

Saw this scene while biking on Shining Sea Bikeway looking out at Martha’s Vineyard Sound. Wood’s Hole, Massachusetts. The background was boring so I stole a sunset I shot in Hilton Head Island and dropped it in. I love the serenity of the mossy pier with the kingfishers perched on top.
