I love photographing luxury student housing, because I am able to compare design and layout from property to property around the nation. U Pointe has a fitness center second to none. Not only is the size amazing but the architectural design is super cool.

Sometimes the mere size of a student housing property will make me stop and cry. When I arrived at Park West in College Station late in the morning, after realizing that there were actually 3 pools as I drove around this massive property I knew that I would be adding another night at my hotel. Sure enough, to shoot aerial drone photos, tripod photos, drone video and gimbal video, took every bit of two days. The video ended up coming together beautifully.

Student Housing Pool Deck at 191 College

This is a great example of one of American Campus‘ student housing Pool decks. It is at 191 College in Auburn Alabama. The lighting at night is really spectacular. When shooting architectural photography like the student housing pool deck, I try to shoot as much as I can 30 minutes before sunset to about 30 minutes after sunset. When the ambient light get closer to matching the interior or deck lights, the combination is very lovely.
